Training thus Far...

I am not one to toot my own horn but - BEEP BEEP... I have made a few changes to my diet and my training and it seems to be working thus far. I may still get tired while working out but its a tired that I can feel is coming from improvement not exhaustion. I still feel burn while working out but its a burn that is clearly coming from improvement not exhaustion. I LOVE how I feel and can feel the changes evolving around me. I feel faster on the bike and faster on the run. With my new diet and such, I haven't had a swim but I'll find out tomorrow I guess.

I get to do an earlier training session on the swim since I have to leave work early tomorrow for a doctor's appointment. So it's an earlier than normal training session for me. :) Makes me very excited - earlier = longer (hopefully).

I can't wait to see how everything pans out coming closer to my next triathlon on May 9 and my "A" race in Miami. I feel better and stronger and faster... hopefully I will continue on with my feelings and make the feelings into more of a reality and be an actual competitor instead of just a participant. Really, that is my ultimate goal and I WILL achieve that... :D I have the motivation and the drive and I will not let anything come between me and my goals.... nothing! I am making the vow to surround myself by people who will only motivate me and support me instead of bring me down. I want to have people in my life who love me and will be there for me. I know I'll have off days and I truly believe that is when you find out who will be there for support 100%. :D

Bad :(

I've been bad... really bad... about updating this. I have been CRAZY busy the past few months with a ton of life changes surrounding me. It's really been hectic but luckily it seems like things are starting to slow down and I am able to catch up and breath again! :)

So here are a few updates. On March 14, I competed in my first sprint triathlon of the season. It was fun. I was happy with my overall time - considering I crapped out on the swim and did HORRIBLE! I was very malnourished for the race as I went into the swim starving so I was very low on energy. I learned a lot about what I need to do for my race on May 9. I got my new bike that I love and adore very much. It seems to be very fast and I am super excited to have it and have been training more on the bike because it makes me happy. lol.

I have done a few races here and there - some planned some not but with my personal changes my race schedule has changed while I am sorting things out. I have, however, registered for the Walt Disney World Marathon for January of 2011 and I am super excited for it. I am also planning on doing a half-marathon in June. After the triathlon in May, I am focusing a lot of my training on my running so I can do well and start looking forward to Miami a bit more.

I have focused quite a bit on the swim and it has seemed to pay off. I swim maybe an hour to hour and a half every other day and that has just been amazing. The swimming has really helped me de-stress my days and I can tell all the training is starting to pay off. I am looking forward to May's race to see how it really has paid off because May will be the longest race I will have competed in (swim-wise). So I am starting to get excited yet nervous all at the same time. Not only will it be the longest swim, but it will also be my first open water swim. I need to start training in the open water but Dallas offers very few options for that.

I have made a lot of friends along my journey thus far but for the most part people have laughed at me lately when I express my goals and desires. I have been dealing with a lot of things emotionally but I realize that I am just becoming a stronger person and with that I am able to define who I am. I am able to be ME and if you don't like it or cannot accept that then we don't need to be friends.

Anyone who reads this and anyone who knows me will know that I so greatly love and enjoy what I do as it really does make me a happier person. I hope I can continue my journey and continue meeting more amazing people like I have met along the way here.

God Speed and Safe Training!
